Three Ashland science students, Nicole Genco (Biology), Daphne Guinn (Toxicology) and Zach Il'Giovane (Biochemistry) presented their research this week at the annual meeting of the Society of Toxicology in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their research on the effects of chemical mixtures on living systems was conducted with Dr. Doug Dawson, professor of Biology/Toxicology, who also presented at the meeting. This project is funded by the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences.
Dr. Dawson's research provides opportunities for students to gain experience in toxicological testing, and contributes to Ashland University's undergraduate Toxicology program, one of only a few in the country.
